The short version. Star Monitors reads publicly available retailer pricing. We don't operate purchasing bots, we don't sell retailer datasets, and we don't help anyone harm a retailer's checkout flow. You walk into the store, you scan the barcode at the register, you pay the same price every other customer pays.
1 · What Star Monitors is
Star Monitors is a retail pricing intelligence service. We ingest publicly visible price and stock signals from the websites of large US retailers (Home Depot, Lowe's, Costco, Walmart, Target, Walgreens) and turn them into structured leads for resellers.
The information we surface — SKU, current price, prior price, store availability, barcode — is the same information any customer with a smartphone can see by visiting the retailer's site. We make it faster, sortable, and filterable.
2 · What Star Monitors is not
- We are not a checkout bot. We do not add items to anyone's cart. We do not execute purchases. We do not interface with retailer payment systems.
- We are not a sneaker / drop bot. We do not assist with high-velocity online purchasing of limited-release inventory.
- We are not a retailer-data resale operation. Members access the leads dashboard or Discord feed under the terms of their own subscription; we do not license retailer data to third parties.
- We are not a credential service. We do not collect, store, or use retailer-account credentials of any kind.
3 · How we collect data
We collect from publicly available endpoints — the same product, pricing, and inventory pages that any browser can load without authentication. We respect retailer robots.txt declarations and rate-limit our reads to remain well below human-browsing volumes per source.
We do not bypass authentication, paywalls, employee-only systems, or any access control. We do not exfiltrate data from retailer internal systems, never have, never will.
4 · How members buy the products
Star Monitors tells you the SKU, the price, and the store. Everything that happens next is your physical, in-person decision: you walk into the store, you put the item in your cart, you stand in line, and you pay at the register. The barcode in our dashboard is the same barcode printed on the product packaging — provided so you can verify the item before walking it to checkout.
For online retailers, members purchase through the retailer's normal checkout flow, in their own browser, with their own account, at the publicly listed price.
5 · Intellectual property & fair use
Retailer names, logos, and product images displayed in Star Monitors are the property of their respective owners. We display them under nominative fair use solely to identify the products and stores being referenced. We make no claim of affiliation, endorsement, or partnership with any retailer.
If you are a retailer rights-holder with a specific concern, please contact legal@starmonitors.com and we will respond within 5 business days.
6 · Responsible-use rules for members
By using Star Monitors, you agree to shop like a customer. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Use Star Monitors data to power automated checkout, add-to-cart, or sniping software against any retailer;
- Harass retail employees about pricing in a way that interferes with their work;
- Threaten, defraud, or attempt to circumvent retailer policies (e.g., return fraud, price-tag manipulation, fake-pickup pickups);
- Resell or rehost the Star Monitors feed itself outside of your subscription seat.
Violation of any of the above is grounds for immediate account termination without refund.
