The short version. We collect the minimum we need to run the service. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. We don't track your in-store sourcing routes. Cancel anytime and we'll delete your account on request.
1 · Who we are
Star Monitors LLC ("we") is the data controller of personal information collected through starmonitors.com, leads.starmonitors.com, and any Star Monitors-powered Discord integration.

2 · What we collect
- Account data
- Email address, display name, Discord user ID (if you authenticate via Discord), hashed password.
- Billing data
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We receive only the last 4 digits of your card, the brand, and a customer ID. We never see your full card number.
- Usage data
- Pages viewed, filters applied, deals saved to your watchlist, and aggregate session timings. Stored for 90 days for service quality and abuse detection.
- Optional location
- If you set a home ZIP code or radius filter, we store that ZIP. We do not track your real-time location or your in-store visits.
- Communications
- Emails you send to support, and our replies.
3 · How we use it
- Operate the service — authenticate you, deliver pings to your Discord, render the dashboard.
- Bill you — process subscription renewals and refunds.
- Improve the product — anonymized, aggregated usage statistics tell us which retailers and filters matter.
- Send essential notices — billing receipts, downtime alerts, policy changes. You cannot opt out of these while you are a customer.
- Send optional updates — product announcements and reseller tips. You can opt out from the footer of any such email.
4 · Who we share it with
We share data only with the following processors, and only as needed:
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing
- Amazon Web Services — hosting and database storage (US-East region)
- Cloudflare, Inc. — DNS, CDN, and edge security
- Discord, Inc. — message delivery for the Discord integration
- Postmark — transactional email
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertising networks, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes. Period.
5 · Cookies
We use a small set of first-party cookies (session, CSRF, cookie-consent state) and one privacy-preserving analytics cookie. See the Cookie Policy for the full list and how to opt out.
6 · How long we keep it
- Account data — for the life of your account, plus 90 days after cancellation.
- Billing records — 7 years, as required by US tax law.
- Usage logs — 90 days.
- Support emails — 3 years.
7 · Your rights
You can:
- Access a copy of the data we hold on you (export from your account page).
- Correct account information (edit from your account page).
- Delete your account and personal data (email privacy@starmonitors.com; processed within 30 days).
- Opt out of non-essential email (footer link in any marketing email).
- Lodge a complaint with the California Privacy Protection Agency or your local data-protection authority.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA / CPRA; EU/UK residents under the GDPR. We honor all of them.
8 · Children
Star Monitors is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9 · Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify active customers by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
